SARAH CHARLESWORTH STUDIO

PhotobucketWhen i was in New York this summer i went to the Guggenheim Museum which is a fantastic building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, however when i went it was a show called Haunted, which was connected to contemporary photography and video and how it seems to be haunted by the past, by ghostly apparitions that... are reanimated in reproductive media, as well as in live performance and the virtual world. I wrote a list of people down that i really liked and only today found the list, so had a look through them, the first person in the list was Sarah Charlesworth who is an American conceptual artist and photographer, her series of Modern history, Herald Tribune was on show, and i was really blown away by the work, it was a really simple idea of all the front pages of Herald Tribune month of September 1977, with all text removed. Only photos remain in place, revealing play and import of photos which are reproduced in original scale and placement. It looked fantastic, so basically you need to check it out, ill post more people i saw at the museum soon.
